About Esuga Elderly Support Uganda
ESUGA ELDERLY SUPPORT UGANDA was founded in 2021 by a group of enthusiastic activists and thinkers who came together to improve and safeguard the lives of elderly persons in Uganda. After research on the rights of elderly persons and the gap between generations, our founder, Mr. Musa Balonde, saw the need for an entity to protect the interests of vulnerable seniors facing psychosocial, health, and economic challenges.
The idea was embraced by counterparts Dr. Muyingo Rajab, Mr. Mayanja Abubakar Shemaran, Mr. Kirya Umar Khamis, Mr. Kakaire Hussein, and Mrs. Nakitto Lailah, who are also recognized as founding members. We focus on providing basic necessities like food, shelter, medical care, and education, especially for those impacted by conflict, displacement, and poverty. Our work aligns with the National Development Plan (NDPIV) to enhance human capital and promote empowerment for all, including the elderly.
Registered with the URSB in May 2022 and permitted as an NGO by the National Bureau for Non-Governmental Organizations on December 13th, 2023, ESUGA is dedicated to creating change by ensuring equal access to basic necessities and human rights for the elderly.

We provide and renovate homes to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment for the elderly.
Healthcare Support
Access to medical care, regular check-ups, and essential medicines are a cornerstone of our work.
Community & Companionship
We organize social events and activities to combat loneliness and foster a sense of belonging.
